Remodel Plumbing
Remodel plumbing
Fixture setting and gas line work for bathroom and kitchen remodels, so the rest of the project keeps moving.
A bathroom or kitchen remodel reaches a point where the plumbing has to move before anything else can go back in. Remodel plumbing is that work: relocating and running supply and drain lines, setting fixtures, and moving gas lines so the tile, cabinets, and counters can follow on schedule. Bobrick Plumbing handles remodel plumbing for homeowners and general contractors across Camas, Washougal, Vancouver, and the surrounding Clark County area.
For homeowners planning a remodel
Whether you are updating one bathroom or reworking a whole kitchen, we handle the plumbing side:
- Moving a sink, toilet, or tub to a new spot in the room
- Converting a tub to a walk-in shower
- Setting a freestanding tub and running its supply and drain
- Adding a second sink, a pot filler, or a laundry hookup
- Running a gas line for a range or a tankless water heater
- Setting the finish fixtures once the room is ready
We come in at the right stages, do the plumbing to code, and coordinate with the rest of your project so the room comes together in order.
For general contractors
When you bring us in as the plumbing sub, you get a plumber who works to your schedule. We rough-in around your framing and inspection dates, keep the water and drain locations exact to the plans, and hit the top-out and trim-out stages when the build reaches them. A licensed, journey-level plumber runs the work, the permit and inspection are handled, and the rough-in is ready when the inspector arrives so the next trades can keep moving. Send us the plans and we will bid the plumbing scope.
Rough-in, top-out, and trim-out
A remodel's plumbing happens in stages, and we explain them in plain terms.
Rough-in is the in-wall and under-floor work: the supply and drain lines that get inspected before the walls close.
Top-out ties the system together above the slab and sets it up for fixtures.
Trim-out is the finish stage, where the faucets, toilets, sinks, and shower valves go in and everything is tested.
Matching each stage to the rest of the build is what keeps a remodel on schedule.
Gas lines for the kitchen
A kitchen remodel often moves or adds gas appliances, and that is plumbing work too. We run and relocate gas lines for a range or cooktop, size the line for the appliance's demand, and pressure-test and permit the work. If you are moving from electric to gas, or adding a line for a new range, we plan the route with the rest of the remodel so the wall only has to open once.
Working around the other trades
Plumbing rarely happens alone in a remodel. The rough-in has to be set before insulation and drywall close the walls, the tub or shower base often goes in before the tile, and the finish fixtures wait until the counters and cabinets are set. We time our stages to the framing, tile, and cabinet work so each trade has what it needs when it arrives, and we keep the water and drain locations exact to the plans so the finish lands where it was drawn. That coordination is what keeps a remodel moving through the plumbing stage.
Moving plumbing the right way
Relocating a fixture is more than sliding a pipe over. Drains need the correct slope to keep draining, vents have to stay within code, and supply lines have to land exactly where the new fixtures will sit. We plan the moves so the finished room works as well as it looks, and so it passes inspection the first time. Larger jobs that reach into the home's main lines connect naturally to our whole-house repipe work.
Setting the fixtures
When the room is ready, we set the fixtures you chose: the faucets, the toilet, the sink or vanity, the shower valve and trim, a freestanding tub filler, or a pot filler over the range. We connect and test each one, check for leaks under normal pressure, and make sure the drains carry cleanly. The plumbing is the part of the remodel you use every day, so we finish it to work as well on the hundredth day as on the first.
Permits and code
Remodel plumbing is permitted work, built to the Uniform Plumbing Code. Depending on the address, the permit runs through the City of Camas Building Division or through Clark County. We pull it, build to it, and handle the inspection, so your remodel has its plumbing signed off and documented.
Kitchens, bathrooms, and commercial spaces
We plumb residential kitchen and bathroom remodels, and we carry the same work into commercial tenant improvements, from cafes to restaurants. If your project is a business build-out, our commercial and restaurant plumbing page covers grease interceptors, backflow, and the rest of that scope. For homes across Camas, Washougal, and Vancouver, call (360) 901-9133 or send your plans and we will follow up with a bid.
FAQ
Common questions
Can a plumber do a bathroom remodel?
A plumber handles the plumbing scope of a remodel: moving and running the supply and drain lines, setting the tub, shower, sink, and toilet, and connecting a gas line where one is needed. We work alongside your other trades or your general contractor to keep the room on schedule.
What is the 30% rule in remodeling?
It is a common budgeting guideline that suggests keeping a single remodel to around 30 percent of your home's value. It is a planning rule of thumb rather than a plumbing code, and the plumbing is one line within that overall budget.
What is the most expensive part of a kitchen remodel?
Cabinetry and countertops usually lead a kitchen budget, with appliances close behind. The plumbing scope is a smaller share, and keeping the sink, dishwasher, and any gas line where the design calls for them keeps that part predictable.
Can you move a sink or toilet to a new spot?
Yes. We relocate sinks, toilets, and tubs, running the drain at the correct slope and keeping the venting within code so the fixture drains properly and passes inspection.
Do you work with general contractors?
Yes. We take on the plumbing sub scope, rough-in around your framing and inspection dates, and hit top-out and trim-out as the build reaches them. Send the plans and we will bid the plumbing.
